“…I will guide you with My eye.”
Ps. 32:8: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.”
By faith I look to your eyes this morning, Lord,
May I receive your love, your correction, your guidance.
May my eyes be ever toward you, Lord, Ps. 25:15.
Teach me, Lord, the way I should go — my next step. Amen.
The eyes of my God are upon me, guiding me,
Though I am but a speck of dust, O Lord.
May this awareness keep me in godly fear,
And thankful for Your mercy, Ps.33: 18.
“I will instruct you and teach you…”
Lord, I wait for your instruction; speak to me.
Lord, I wait for your teaching; teach me.
Guide me in the way I should walk by faith. Amen.
● “guide you with My eye,” means: He will counsel you; His eyes shall be upon you.
● The eyes mirror the heart; when we look to God’s eyes, we have fellowship with God. We learn this as we live a life of prayer — prayer of the heart.
● 2 Chr. 16:9: “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal.” [loyal means: blameless]. May my heart abide in godly fear, Lord, and be found blameless before you. Amen.
Quote:
“Lead, Kindly Light, amidst th’ encircling gloom,
Lead Thou me on!
The night is dark, and I am far from home,
Lead Thou me on!
Keep Thou my feet; I do not ask to see
The distant scene; one step enough for me.” — John Henry Newman 1801 – 1890
Quote: “When we want to know God’s will there are three things which always concur: the inward impulse, the Word of God, and the trend of circumstances! God in the heart, impelling you forward; God in the Book, corroborating whatever He says in the heart; and God in circumstances, which are always indicative of His will. Never start until these three things agree. Stand still at the cross-roads ready to walk or run, and you will not be kept waiting long.”
Patience Strong, quoted in Springs in the Valley
Testimony: As I grow older, I have greater need to keep looking to the Lord for His guidance constantly. The more I look to the Lord, the less mistakes I make, and the less stress I come under. I commit myself to God’s keeping as soon as I wake up in the morning. Recently when I was under stress, I found Ps. 142 most helpful, especially verse 3: “When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then You knew my path…”
Memory Verse – Rom. 8:14: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”
