“…a wise man who built his house on the rock…”
Matt. 7:24-27: “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” [“These sayings of Mine” refers to Jesus’ words in Matthew 5, 6, and 7.]
Whenever I am troubled or shaken, Lord, let me turn to your Word — my foundation of rock— so my house will stand firm in the rain, floods, and winds. As long as I live in the flesh, Lord, I am subject to storms. Lord, I commit myself to you to keep me from falling in my trials, Jude verse 24. Amen.
● The house built on rock and the house built on sand look the same, as long as there are no storms. Lord, may I find grace to humble myself when I am shaken in the trials.
● Jesus Christ and His Word are the immovable foundation on which we stand. Our Lord said in John 14:1: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.” May my faith increase, Lord, as I go through trials.
● Jude verse 24-25: “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to God our Savior, Who alone is wise, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.” Lord, I trust you to keep me in the rain, the floods and the winds.

Quote: “Some are kept from great temptations, and in small ones which do daily occur, are often overcome; to the end that, being humbled, they may never presume on themselves in great matters, who are baffled in so small things.” — Thomas A Kempis, The Imitation of Christ
Testimony: Few years ago I meditated on Matt. 5, 6, and 7 one verse daily. I keep committing myself to God to keep me from falling, 2 Tim. 1:12: “…I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.” I earnestly desire to be led by the Spirit (Rom. 8:14) in daily life, and be preserved from all evil. Once I heard a servant of God speaking from Luke 16:10: “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.” God had taught me this lesson in my teens. Being “faithful in what is least” will keep us safe through life’s journey.
Memory Verse: 1 Cor. 10:12: “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.”
